Definition of the word: Titanic

Titanic - A fabled ocean-faring vessel from the middle Dumb Ages. All that history knows for certain was its grand scale and assured seaworthiness. In modern times the phrase has been adopted to describe all things irrationally large, specifically when in excess of reasonable technology, precaution, necessity and expectation of safety. This word is used in a complimentary fashion, such as "that waterbed is so big she’ll crash through your apartment floor killing everyone through all ten of the lower floors. But she’s a grand Titanic and I’d like to buy one for myself!"
