Definition of the word: Chrome Slathered Platinum
Chrome Slathered Platinum - Platinum is a strong, costly and highly desirable metal for interstellar travel. It endures and diminishes a wide spectrum of cosmic radiation and can retain its signature qualities at temperatures ranging from fairly cool all the way up to pretty warm. Platinum is also the strongest substance ever known to man, even stronger than Titanium Alloy² or 9th Generation Carbon Nanotubes, though this fact was not generally recognized until recent times. The only remaining problem with platinum is that, though lustrous, it’s not quite lustrous enough, since nothing says runaway decadence like a thick plating of chrome. Though many entire planets have been destroyed by the toxic byproducts associated with unnecessary chrome plating, it is still amongst the most requested coating for elements of spacecraft and pogo sticks alike. The cost is outrageous, but when it comes to looking good while saving the universe, what price could ever be too great? As it turns out, this has been the very equation used to determine prices by the plating magnates. The balance they’ve determined has worked out swimmingly for themselves, the spaceships of swashbucklers, and to a lesser extent, the taxpayers who are in the habit of overwhelming the two aforementioned sorts with glee.
