I paused at the door, shook my head slightly and said to no one in particular, “alright, here we go.” The man in booth seven popped his head out, “what?” “Nothing,” I said, “wasn’t talking to you. I was just saying -- never mind.” I slipped in to my booth, took the large, purple, checkered mind relaxing salve and rubbed it across my chest. I engaged the reactivatoriton to my brain hole and the ride began. I was back in Alpha Squad Headquarters and it was the minute I’d first walked in the door. "Hello, Tek Jansen," said Tracy, glancing up coyly from her vidmon as she continued to type. Then she stopped typing and paused before she started typing again. "You're late," she brashly declared. "Well, Alpha Squad Headquarters is one of the most secure locations in all of New Terra," I defended boldly, "and so there were many layers of security I had to pass through in order to get here. That can take some time." "Well, that doesn't change the fact that you were supposed to be here at 1400 hours, and it's almost 1410," teased Tracy brightly.
