Shindig - An event similar to a hootenanny or jamboree, but with more of a revelrous get-together air. Comparable to a social gathering or celebration, but with more of a whoop-it-up, paint-the-town-red-whilst-getting-down, letting-ones-hair-down, loose-hanging-festivity sort of feeling. Like a square dance, but without the banjo and more gin than moonshine.
