Definition of the phrase: Organic Culvert

Organic Culvert - A drainage pipe or system of such pipes used to divert streams of fluid right through a body. Different from a gastro-intestinal tract in that it serves no digestive function, different from a traditional organic duct in that it's a passage directly through an organism rather than simply leading from within to without, and different from a traditional culvert in that it is the creation and possession of an individual creature, specifically one that is organic. While the survival benefit of such a critter-gutter is unknown and unimaginable, it does not outrank other, better accepted organic accessories in terms of uselessness such as tonsils, gall bladder, appendix or huge, beautiful breasts on any member of a secluded convent.
